what that looks like
Having worked with couples for over 11 years, I know that the portrait session on your wedding day can feel like a big moment, and it's natural to have some anxiety about it. I completely empathize with those feelings, oddly enough I still get nervous in front of a camera to this day
My approach is to create an an easy-going atmosphere that encourages natural candid moments to arise during our conversation, where you both feel at ease, where you can focus solely on each other and the significance of the day without any added stress. My goal is for you and your partner to be able to enjoy the moment without constantly worrying about how the session is going or how the images are turning out.
my method
I strongly believe in capturing genuine expressions and micro-expressions of love by letting them happen naturally, without artificial posing.
Over the years, many of the couples I've had the honor of working with have shared that they forgot they were even being photographed. This is exactly the kind of experience I aim to create — one where you can simply be yourselves, allowing your love to shine through authentically.
By creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, I provide the space for real moments to unfold. This results in images that truly reflect the emotions and personalities of the people in them.
The portraits
During the allocated time for you and your partner, I will skillfully capture both candid, documentary-style photos and elegant, classically influenced portraits.
While some gentle direction will be given, I will avoid clichéd poses and instead create a unique scene that showcases you and your partner making a promise of commitment to each other. The resulting images will reflect the power and significance of this momentous occasion.

Booking a photographer requires trust above all else. The importance of trust cannot be overstated, which is why selecting someone with a creative eye and substantial experience is critical.
As a trusted professional for over ten years, I have had the privilege of being selected by hundreds of couples to capture their most cherished moments. The wedding day may be fleeting, but memories and photographs are forever, and I understand and respect the invaluable nature of these captured moments.

I take pride in my ability to capture timeless and beautiful memories, and I am dedicated to creating an enjoyable and easy-going environment throughout the process.
Where are you located?
My wife and two dogs and I live in Missouri. I love being a midwest based wedding photographer, but I mostly travel for weddings and assignments.
Are there travel fees
Yes, depending on the location of your event, there may be some travel fees
DO YOU HAVE A RECOMMENDED VIDEOGRAPHER?
I think adding video to a full photo set allows for a more vivid recollection of the day and video captures things the photos miss.
How do we book you?
Booking is simple. Just shoot me an email inquiring about your specific date and from there the process is easy. You solidify your date with a retainer, and I send a contract and then we are good to go.
Do you travel?
Yes I do. In fact, I prefer it. So much inspiration can be gleaned from the process of traveling and seeing new spaces.
Whats your turn around time?
I believe strongly in timely delivering. The whole wedding essay can be expected within a month to a month and a half. As a bonus I deliver a handful of preview images usually with in the following days to hold you over till the full set is done.
How do we get our photos?
I deliver everything using a personalized online gallery. I send a link which you can use to download the full resolution images, but also share with family and friends, and even order prints all from the same place.
How many photos do we get?
The photo count can vary greatly depending on the time booked or even the planned events. In the past, I've delivered 350 images for a smaller event, but also 1,000 images for a full day wedding. I choose what I am proud of and what I feel expresses the day.
How far out do you book?
The shortest I prefer to book a couple is 1 month out and the farthest out is 2 years depending on my availability.
Do you retouch photos?
I typically don't do any intensive retouching as I feel that can cheapen the experience of being brought back to a place and time from a photograph. That being said, I do remove things that distract from the image or any blemishes that are distracting from the subject.
Should we do an engagement session?
I think the engagement session is so important because we get to meet and get to know each other better which means so much to the creative process. I can travel wherever for the engagement session so let's go somewhere
